【#Buildings Thingies Ain’t No Easy-Peasy Take Action for Mandatory Building Inspection】

“I’ve been a homeowner for a long while.  It’s not really my concern…” Hey hey hey, take action if you’re an owner of private buildings.  The better the buildings are kept, the longer they can stay.  Let Build and Ding show you the procedures of Mandatory Building Inspection:

  1. Serving of statutory notices: owners / owners’ corporations of private buildings aged 30 years or above will be served with statutory notices by the Buildings Department, which require the carrying out of prescribed inspection and prescribed repair for the buildings within the time specified.
  2. Prescribed inspection: owners / owners’ corporations are required to appoint a registered inspector to carry out the prescribed inspection personally within the time specified.
  3. Prescribed repair: if the registered inspector is of the opinion that prescribed repair is necessary, owners / owners’ corporations are required to appoint a registered contractor to carry out the prescribed repair under the supervision of the registered inspector within the time specified.
