No windows can escape the wear and tear of time. Don’t wait for a statutory notice from the Buildings Department (BD) to schedule a health check for your windows! Even if your building is less than 10 years old, it’s important to arrange for regular window inspsections with a qualified person. Make sure to follow the requirements of the Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme when carrying out inspections and/or repairs, and don’t forget to cooperate with BD’s site audits!
If you’re planning a home renovation, you may consider appointing a qualified person to carry out voluntary inspections on all of your windows. Simply submit the relevant forms for window inspection to BD to be recognised as having fulfilled the MWIS requirements within the respective inspection cycle!
