【Modular Integrated Construction: it’s more than building with Lego!】
Modular Integrated Construction method (MiC) is often compared to building with Lego. Well, not exactly, but it does make the construction process easier!
MiC is based on the concept of “factory assembly followed by on-site installation”. Building modules, which may include interior fitting-outs and building services installations, are prefabricated in factories. These pre-fabricated modules are then delivered to the sites and installed one by one to construct buildings. This not only reduces the environmental impact, but also shortens construction time. In addition, the Buildings Department has introduced facilitation measures to encourage wider use of MiC in the industry!
