【Village house owner given eight months’ jail sentence for persistently failing to comply with removal orders 】

Hey hey hey!  Told you it’s a serious offence not to comply with the removal notice.  A village house owner was sentenced to eight months’ imprisonment for persistently failing to comply with the removal orders. This is so far the heaviest sentence imposed among similar cases.  This is really no joke!

Unauthorised building works (UBWs) will adversely affect the structural and fire safety of buildings.  Comply with the removal orders immediately!

Build & Ding Reminders:
Failure to comply with a removal order without reasonable excuse is a serious offence under the Buildings Ordinance.  The maximum penalty upon conviction is a fine of $200,000 and 1 year’s imprisonment, and a further fine of $20,000 for each day that the offence has continued.
