Building safety tips

【Know Your Building: What if…the traps run dry?】

Negative pressure is created when the bathroom door is closed with the exhaust fan on.  If the trap is dried up, viruses may be drawn into the premises from the drainage pipes.

The water vapour from a shower also facilitates the formation of water droplets, increasing the likelihood of depositing viruses on floor mats, towels and other toiletries.  Exposure to these items may lead to infection.

Remember to pour around half a litre of water into each floor drain at least once a week.  Ah Build would also like to remind you that floor drain is not only present in the bathroom, but also in the kitchen or even under the kitchen cabinets!  Find them out to prevent viruses from entering your home!
