Floor drains have to be equipped with traps to prevent foul odour and viruses from entering your home.  I believe you’ve already known that and have checked your drainage pipes.  What about the trap for your washing machine?

What?!  I have to install a trap for the washing machine?  Yes!  The used water from the washing machine discharges through the waste pipes.  If no trap is installed between the waste pipes and the drain outlet of the washing machine, foul odour and viruses from the drainage pipes may enter your home through the washing machine!
