Building safety tips

【Hey hey hey, it’s no joke. Window inspection notice is not to be overlooked.】

Regular window inspection should be carried out for public safety.  Owners are reminded to take action as soon as possible upon receipt of the Mandatory Window Inspection notice.  An owner was recently fined around $6,000 for failing to comply with a statutory notice for Mandatory Window Inspection to appoint a qualified person to carry out a window inspection/repair for a flat in a 42-year-old building.

Build & Ding Reminders:
Pursuant to the Buildings Ordinance, any person who, without reasonable excuse, fails to comply with a statutory notice commits an offence and is liable on conviction to a fine at level 4 ($25,000 at present) and to imprisonment for 3 months, as well as a further fine of $2,000 for each day that the offence has continued.

Take action immediately when you receive a notice for window inspection.  Don’t take any chances!
