Briefing on the Code of Practice for Site Supervision 2009 (2024 Edition)

   The Code of Practice for Site Supervision 2009 (2024 Edition) (the Code) has been issued in August 2024 by the Buildings Department (BD) to incorporate various amendments made in December 2023 and August 2024.

   The briefing will mainly cover the following major amendments made to the Code:

(a)    Introduction  
(b)    Qualified supervision of building works involving mobile plants and tower cranes by adopting Smart Site Safety System
(c)    Introduction of more suitable practitioners as technically competent persons (TCP) for site supervision
(d)    Enhancement of control on temporary works providing support to tower cranes
(e)    Introduction of time frame for reporting non-conformities and major/serious site incidents to BD
(f)    Q&A session

   The briefing will be broadcasted online via Microsoft TEAMS. Successful applicants for the online course will be notified separately with the web link and user guidelines.

Briefing on  the Code of Practice for Site Supervision 2009 (2024 Edition)

  • Registration need to be completed online before the deadline.
  • Each person is only allowed to register once.
  • Repeated registration will be cancelled.
  • Buildings Department ("BD") is not responsible for any delays in emails or other unsuccessful transmissions due to incorrect contact information provided or due to factors beyond the control of the BD, such as the communication network and email service providers.
  • As seats are limited, BD reserves the right to determine the acceptance of the registration.
  • Buildings Department reserves the right of final decision of the event. Any changes or contingency measures for the event announced by the Buildings Department and/or posted on the official Facebook page shall prevail.

Typhoon and Rainstorm Warning Arrangements

  • The Symposium will be cancelled when Tropical Cyclone Signal No. 8 or above or a black rainstorm warning signal is issued 3 hours before its commencement.
