Details:
The Buildings Department (BD) has been developing a series of automated checking tools to facilitate the preparation and processing of digital plan submissions in BIM format. The BIM Automated Checking Tools, which may also serve as the design review tools, save time and manpower in manual checking/computation and updating/rechecking after design amendments, thereby enhancing quality and certainty of the submissions.
Further to the BIM Area Tool for checking floor area information released in March 2024, BD has recently launched another two checking tools for checking sanitary fitments provisions (the BIM Sanitary Fitments Tool) and fire safety requirements under the Code of Practice for Fire Safety in Buildings 2011 (the BIM Fire Safety Tool). To let more practitioners familiar with the use of the two new checking tools, a face to face workshop is arranged for frontline BIM modellers. This workshop aims to provide a forum for sharing of hands-on experience and smart practices. In the workshop, the general workflow for using the BIM checking tools would be demonstrated.
