Delayed compliance with Dangerous Hillside Orders will lead to prosecution

Hey hey hey!  #Stay away from legal troubles!  Build and Ding always tell people to check their slopes before the rainy season.  The managers responsible for the management of the slopes and the retaining wall within a private lot in Yuen Long were convicted and each fined $20,000 in court for failing to comply with the Dangerous Hillside (DH) Order issued by the Buildings Department.  Despite repeated reminders issued by the department, the remedial works required were not completed within a reasonable period.   The rainy season is coming.  To ensure public safety, comply with the DH Orders as soon as possible!

Build & Ding Reminders:

Any person who, without reasonable excuse, fails to comply with a DH Order served on him under section 27A of the Buildings Ordinance shall be guilty of an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a fine at level 5 ($50,000 at present) and to imprisonment for 1 year, as well as to a further fine of $5,000 for each day that the offence has continued.
